What Monday Wear is (and what it isn’t)

Carnival Monday is the warm-up: a shorter, more relaxed road than Tuesday and the first time the whole band comes together. You don’t wear your full costume on Monday. You wear Monday Wear, Showtime’s coordinated We Love Mondays outfit, or your own comfortable clothes. Monday Wear keeps the band looking like one band, dialled down from Tuesday’s full costume energy.

Monday Wear questions

Is Monday Wear included with my costume?
Yes. Every full Carnival costume package includes one Monday Wear outfit, including Bronze and male packages. Monday Wear is also available as a standalone purchase if you do not want a full Tuesday costume. Your costume package covers what happens on the road on both days: meals, premium drinks, security, music trucks, paramedics and mobile restrooms.
Do I have to buy Monday Wear to play Monday?
No. You can join the band on Monday in your own comfortable, road-ready clothes. Most masqueraders buy Monday Wear because it makes the Monday photos and the band’s look on the road feel unified, and because it’s already made for hours of dancing in the heat.
Which size do I order?
Use the same measurements as your costume. Our costume sizing guide explains how to measure and which size to choose; sizes for both your costume and Monday Wear are due by 1 January 2027.
What else do I bring on Monday?
Broken-in footwear, sunscreen and a small bag. Pace yourself: Monday is the marathon’s first half, and Tuesday is eight hours or more on the road. The packing list covers both days.
How is Monday different from Tuesday?
