CARNIVAL 2027 · FAQ
First-timer’s FAQ
The questions we get asked most, answered in one place.
Short version: secure a costume with a TTD 800 deposit within 48 hours, pay the balance and confirm sizes by January 1, 2027, collect at Mas Camp with your QR boarding pass and ID, and play mas on 8–9 February 2027. Everything else is below.
Sizing and the costume
What size should I order?
Use the sizing guide before choosing your bra, waist and bottom sizes. Start with the size you already wear. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact Showtime on WhatsApp before placing your order so the team can help you choose. Final sizes are due January 1, 2027.
What is the difference between the tiers?
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum are versions of the same section costume with different pieces and levels of detail; the Male tier is the male costume. Compare the photos and listed pieces on your section page, then check the current price in the store. Prices are in how much it costs.
Do I keep the costume?
Yes. Your Carnival Tuesday costume is yours to keep.
Collecting your costume
How do I pick up my costume?
Costume distribution happens in the weeks leading up to Carnival at scheduled pickup dates at Mas Camp, 51 French Street, Port of Spain, communicated by email and WhatsApp well in advance. Bring your QR boarding pass and a valid government-issued ID. Opening hours are Tuesday–Friday 2:30–7:00 PM and Saturday 1:00–7:00 PM; those are opening hours, not your collection appointment.
I’m flying in and can’t make the standard pickup window. What do I do?
Reach out to the team in advance. Showtime regularly helps international masqueraders coordinate alternate pickup arrangements around their travel dates.
On the road
I’m traveling alone — will I know anyone?
More masqueraders than you would think play mas solo, and Carnival is one of the friendliest environments on earth for it. You are part of a section from the moment you register, and the band community, including the WhatsApp groups, connects you with fellow masqueraders before you even land. By the time you are on the truck, you will not feel like a stranger.
What should I bring on the road — and what should I leave at home?
Bring comfortable footwear you have broken in beforehand, a small waist bag or crossbody for essentials (phone, ID, cash, sunscreen) and a portable phone charger. Leave at home anything you are not prepared to dance in, sweat in or lose. The full list is in what to pack.
Is food and drink included?
Yes. Chef-curated meals and premium bars travel with the band on both Monday and Tuesday, along with security, music trucks, paramedics and mobile restrooms. See what’s included.
What do I wear on Monday?
Monday Wear or your own comfortable clothes, not your full costume. Showtime sells coordinated Monday Wear (TTD 1,199). Read Monday vs Tuesday.
Where do I meet the band on the morning?
Meeting location, reporting time and section-specific road-day instructions are sent to registered masqueraders before the event, by email and in your section’s WhatsApp group.
Travel
When is Carnival 2027?
Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 February 2027. The full season calendar and future dates are in Carnival 2027 dates.
Where should I stay?
In or around Port of Spain. Past masqueraders recommend the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Hilton Trinidad, Brix Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott. Book early; see getting to Trinidad.
Can Showtime help me plan my trip?
Yes. Message the team on WhatsApp and they will help you line up registration, collection and travel dates.
Still have a question?
Reach the team anytime at Info@ShowtimeCarnival.com, on WhatsApp at +1 (868) 233-7449, or at Mas Camp, 51 French Street, Port of Spain. We would rather answer it now than have you wonder about it later.
