What counts as a referral

A referral is a person you register: every costume on an order placed with your Link-Up code counts as one person, once the order has money on it — a deposit paid at Mas Camp or online, a payment in full, or a payment plan opened. A family of three on one order is three people. An order that is placed but never paid does not count, and is cancelled automatically after 48 hours.

Merchandise, pre-registration deposits and event tickets bought with a code are not referrals. Your own costume is never a referral, even on an order somebody else places, and the same masquerader can only be counted for one crew lead once per season.

The rewards

• Premium Swag Bag upgrade. Every crew lead who registers at least one person. No limit. Collected with your Carnival package.
• Carnival Boat Ride ticket (Fast Action Bonus). The first 300 members to register one person, ordered by the moment that person’s order was paid. Tickets awarded before 1 October 2026, under the earlier two-referral rule, stand. Once 300 tickets are awarded no further tickets are issued. A reserve list of 50 is held in case an awarded ticket is returned to the pool.
• Upgraded premium costume draw. Every member who registers two or more people is entered once. Six names are drawn on 18 December, and each wins an upgraded premium costume.
• Premium Costume Upgrade and tier upgrade. The five crew leads who have registered the most people at the close. Where a tier upgrade or the Premium Costume Upgrade does not exist for the tier held, an equivalent credit towards add-ons is given instead.
• Grand Prize draw. Every member who registers two or more people is entered, with one entry for every person registered after the first: 2 people is 1 entry, 3 people is 2 entries, 4 people is 3 entries. One name is drawn on 18 December and takes a trip for two to Miami or Barbados (return flights from Piarco and two nights’ accommodation, to a stated maximum value, travel to be taken by 30 June 2027 and not during Carnival week). Visas, insurance, transfers and spending money are the winner’s responsibility. A crew lead may win only one draw prize.

300 free Boat Ride tickets are available through this promotion.

Eligibility

Open to members: everyone who has played Mas with Showtime Carnival or holds a paid Take Off 2027 registration. Every member is given a Link-Up code automatically. Employees of Showtime Carnival, section leads and members of their households may earn the Premium Swag Bag upgrade, but are not eligible for the boat ride, the leaderboard prizes or either draw.

Counting, corrections and the close

Counts are taken from Showtime Carnival’s own records and update through the day. If a referral is refunded, cancelled or purged for non-payment before the close, it stops counting and any reward that depended on it is withdrawn; where that frees a boat ride ticket it passes to the next crew lead on the reserve list. Counts freeze at the close and are verified for 48 hours before results are published on 18 December, after which they stand.

Ties on the leaderboard are settled in favour of the crew lead who reached that number of people first.

The public leaderboard

Crew leads who have registered three or more people may appear on the public leaderboard, shown as a first name and last initial with the number of people registered. No email address, code, order or amount is ever shown. A crew lead may ask to appear as a number instead, at any time, in My Registration or by contacting us.

General

Prizes are not transferable and there is no cash alternative. A crew lead may hold an upgrade package, a swag bag and a boat ride ticket and also win a leaderboard prize and a draw prize. Showtime Carnival may correct errors in counting, and may vary or withdraw this promotion for reasons beyond its control, giving notice by email to registered masqueraders. Decisions on eligibility and counting are made from Showtime Carnival’s records and are final. This promotion is run by Showtime Carnival, 51 French Street, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
